Triceps blade, flat iron in training

ANVIL Stainless Steel Triceps Blade – Train Multiple Muscle Groups: Triceps, Back, & Straight-Bar Pullovers

The Original ANVIL Triceps Blade is far more than a classic triceps handle. As a solid, precise stainless steel cable attachment, it enables not only uncompromising triceps training but also back exercises – especially straight-bar cable pullovers, which are a real game changer for many athletes. This versatility makes the Triceps Blade a multi-muscle group tool for home gyms, studios, and competitive sports.

What is a Triceps Blade (also known as a "flat bar")?

A Triceps Blade – often also referred to as a flat bar – is a straight cable attachment that provides a stable, neutral hand position. Unlike rope handles or many V-handles, there is less "wobble" in the grip position. The result: direct force transmission, clean repetitions, and a movement execution that feels consistent even with heavy loads.

  • Stability through a straight, solid design
  • Control during heavy sets without rotational/angular stress
  • Versatility for pressing, extension, and pulling movements on the cable machine

Why the ANVIL Stainless Steel Triceps Blade is so special

The ANVIL Triceps Blade was designed by our own team and is manufactured in Germany. The handle is made of solid stainless steel – this is not just a matter of aesthetics, but above all durability and safety during training.

Especially during intense sessions, it is crucial that your grip does not "work" itself, does not give way, and does not impose design-related limits. The solid steel construction therefore enables:

  • very heavy training without any practically relevant weight limit
  • consistent balance on the cable machine – no soft or spongy feedback
  • long-lasting, robust design for continuous studio/home gym use

The concept has now been copied many times – even by global competitors. For many, however, the original remains what it is: ANVIL.

Multi-muscle group: Triceps & Back with one handle

Many see the triceps first when they hear the name – in practice, however, the Triceps Blade is a handle that works across multiple muscle groups. The key lies in the angle-neutral hand position: It is ideal for extension movements (triceps) and at the same time for pulling/lever movements (back), especially during pullovers.

This means: You can perform both pressing/extension and back-focused exercises with the same tool in a stable, precise, and repeatable manner – without constantly changing the grip type.

The pros' favorite exercise: Straight-bar cable pullovers

Cable pullovers are one of the underrated back exercises – and at the same time one of the technically demanding ones if the grip geometry is not right. Many handles force unnatural angles in the wrist or lead to "pulling inward/outward", which can disrupt the movement flow.

With the Triceps Blade, you can perform pullovers without angles: stable, linear, and without unnecessary rotation. This makes it easier to keep the focus where it belongs:

  • Latissimus (pulling sensation throughout the entire range of motion)
  • Large round muscle (depth in the back, especially during the stretch)
  • Core tension and clean shoulder blade control

Especially with heavy or controlled slow repetitions, the massive construction brings a noticeable advantage: The grip remains "quiet", the movement remains "clean".

Triceps: all variations – clean, heavy, controlled

For triceps training, the Blade is a classic: It is suitable for almost all cable machine variations – from moderate pump sets to very heavy working sets. Thanks to the straight grip position, you can keep the elbow path stable and focus more on the extension work.

Typical triceps exercises with the Triceps Blade

  • Triceps pushdowns on the cable machine (clean lockout, stable elbow position)
  • Overhead triceps extensions (controlled stretch, constant tension)
  • Triceps pressdowns with a focus on technique and tempo

Protect your elbows – especially with high volume

Many athletes report that a stable, neutral grip position in cable training can make the difference – especially with high volume and recurring heavy sessions. Less "angular stress" in the wrist often also means less stress in the chain up to the elbow.

The ANVIL Triceps Blade is designed to reliably deliver this stability – not as a promise, but as a result of construction, material, and practical development.

Who is the Triceps Blade for?

  • Home gym athletes looking for a long-lasting tool for many exercises
  • Studio trainees who want to perform heavy cable sets stably
  • Bodybuilding & strength training, when triceps and back are consistently trained progressively
  • Everyone who wants to perform pullovers technically cleanly and without angles

Conclusion: One handle, multiple muscle groups – the original remains ANVIL

The ANVIL Stainless Steel Triceps Blade is not a single-purpose handle. It is a massive, stable training tool that supports triceps exercises in all variations while also showcasing its strengths during back training – especially during straight-bar pullovers.

Designed by our own team, manufactured in Germany, built for long-lasting heavy training: If you are looking for a tool that you will not replace after one season, the Triceps Blade is a consistent choice.
